Medicaid waivers help fund the services Damar provides to help people with disabilities live more independent lives. Indiana provides Medicaid waivers for a variety of needs, including but not limited to intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injury, and the aging and disabled. Damar is also an approved provider for Money Follows the Person (MFP) and CHOICE programs.

Indiana’s MFP program is funded through a federal grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. It’s designed to help people move from institutional settings to home- and community-based settings. The MFP can provide funding for many of the services provided by Damar. Indiana’s Community and Home Options to Institutional Care for the Elderly and Disabled (CHOICE) program provides funding for home- and community-based services to assist individuals in maintaining their independence in their own homes or communities for as long as is safely possible. CHOICE is for people age 60 and older or people who have a disability and are at risk of losing their independence. Damar can help you determine whether you qualify—or you can find out more about CHOICE at IN.gov.
